Quaking Aspen
Populus tremuloides

The quaking aspen is a plant I know well enough to recognize and not well enough to key out.
I mostly photograph this species as part of a place, not as a portrait.
Taxonomy here follows a standard order-level frame (Malpighiales / Salicaceae); common synonymies are noted when I’ve seen them used in the field.
Best stands I’ve found are along familiar transects I walk for birds.
Plant ID is its own craft and I’m in the slow part of the learning curve.
