Plains Zebra

I am not a mammal specialist, but the plains zebra is impossible to ignore once you’ve seen one well.

They’re more predictable than they look once you know the daily timing.

My images for this species are all made with available light. I don’t use fill flash in the field.

One sighting that sticks: a single animal crossing an open flat with no cover, moving faster than I expected.

I don’t need every sighting to produce a frame. Sometimes just watching is the whole thing.
