Pacific Trillium
Trillium ovatum

The pacific trillium is a plant I know well enough to recognize and not well enough to key out.
Phenology is everything: two weeks early or late and the whole scene is different.
I avoid published counts of population estimates here. My interest is a sightings journal, not a density map.
The light that works for this species is overcast, softened, and not dramatic.
Plant ID is its own craft and I’m in the slow part of the learning curve.
