Moose

I am not a mammal specialist, but the moose is impossible to ignore once you’ve seen one well.

Wind direction matters for mammals in a way it mostly doesn’t for birds.

My images for this species are all made with available light. I don’t use fill flash in the field.

Most of my shots are from a vehicle, which is still the least intrusive way I know to approach a wary mammal.

There is no ID problem here, only a distance problem and a light problem.
