Indian Paintbrush
Castilleja miniata

I am not a botanist and the indian paintbrush is on this list mostly as an apology for ignoring the plants for so long.
I mostly photograph this species as part of a place, not as a portrait.
Regional occurrence notes: I usually catch this species in the western north america part of its range.
The light that works for this species is overcast, softened, and not dramatic.
Plant ID is its own craft and I’m in the slow part of the learning curve.
