Eastern Box Turtle

The eastern box turtle is the most I’ll say about reptiles on this site without promising to learn the group.

Thermal behavior matters: time of day and surface temperature drive everything I see.

Regional occurrence notes: I usually catch this species in the eastern united states part of its range.

I’ve never intentionally driven to see one, and I’ve still seen plenty.
