Sparrow ID is a winter project

Sparrows from the kitchen window are a decent winter project. I’ve set up a feeder and a brush pile about twelve meters from the back door, and I’m learning that even the “easy” ones are harder than I thought. White-throated and White-crowned I can do. Lincoln’s I miss at least a third of the time. The flashlight test of counting tail feathers and wing barring on a Savannah vs. Song still has me running back to a guide more often than I’d like.
