Raptor migration count, one morning
One morning’s raptor count from Hawk Mountain, typed in from the notebook: 14 Sharp-shinned, 9 Cooper’s, 2 Northern Goshawks, 28 Red-tailed, 3 Peregrine, 1 Golden Eagle (first of the season for me here), 6 Osprey. Not a big flight by local standards. Big enough that I kept the notebook open on my knee for four hours.
