Got beat by a local at a hide

Arrived at a public hide pre-dawn, got set up, watched a local show up, nod to me, and by the time the bird I’d come for started working our side, he’d anticipated the angle by half a meter and I hadn’t. His frames will be better than mine. That’s fair. I don’t want a hide to be a competition and this guy wasn’t making it one, but the lesson for me is about pre-visualization, not equipment, not effort. You can’t make up for it on the fly.
