Fog at Point Reyes

The marine layer at Point Reyes is a coin flip with a weighted coin. Some mornings it peels back by ten and you have two useful hours of light before it comes back. Some mornings it sits on the headland until three. I’ve learned to stop checking the forecast and just go. The trip is worth it either way because there’s plenty to photograph in fog: tight frames, small subjects, soft backgrounds. It just isn’t what I drove out for.
