A mediocre sunrise at Malheur
Malheur did not produce. The sunrise was flat, the wind was already a factor by six, and the headline birds I’d driven all that way for were not at the pond I expected them to be at. I had a nice chat with a volunteer at the visitor’s center. I saw a Yellow-headed Blackbird from the car. I wrote in the notebook and drove home. Not every trip produces the cover shot.
