Serengeti migration at the river
Flew in from Kilimanjaro and drove to the northern Serengeti. The wildebeest migration is typically at the Mara River crossings in July and we were parked near a potential crossing point for six hours without a crossing. Never mind — the birds around the river make that waiting easier. Tawny Eagles, Martial Eagle on a dead acacia, Secretarybird walking through grass at dusk.
Then at the end of our time the herd crossed, loud and fast. I did not do a good job photographing it. I stopped and watched.
