Flew into Kota Kinabalu and drove up to Poring first, then up to the Kinabalu park HQ. The foothills between 1500 and 2200 meters are the easiest place to get on Borneo’s montane endemics. Hired a local guide both mornings. Whitehead’s Broadbill gave me decent frames from a fruiting tree along the Silau-silau trail and we managed a brief look at a Whitehead’s Trogon, though my photos of that one are not going to win any prizes.
